Brief history of the Indian Ocean RADO

The Indian Ocean Regional Anti-doping Organization (RADO) was created in 2008 with the help of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

It was launched by the National Olympic Committees and the government representatives of 5 countries in de Indian Ocean zone, in particular: Comoros, Djiboutin, Madagascar, Mauritius and Seychelles.

The RADO is governed by a Board composed of a representative from each Member Country appointed jointly by the NOC and the ministry responsible for sport in their country.

This Member Country Representative (MPR) is the focal point for all communications between  the Member Country and the RADO, representing both the government and the NOC.

Te positions of President and Treasurer are elective for a term of 4 years renewable once.

Indian Ocean RADO is legally registered in Seychelles as a non-profit organization. The Organization is managed independently by its Board.

The HQ of the Indian Ocean RADO office is located in the Seychelles, and managed by a full-time administrator.

The official language of RADO is French. English is used as requested by Member Country Representatives.

Objectives

The Indian Ocean RADO aims to promote clean sport with the Governments and National Olympic Committees of RADO member countries, as well as with other sports organizations.
